Language Arts: The New Colossus

The statue of liberty is different from the harsh god, Helios, because in the greek culture, the people kill for entertainment. And the lady of liberty is different from Helios. Emma Lazarus described the statue of liberty as a mighty women and the torch in her hand has lightning in it. And she is the mother of the people who were exiled. She welcomes people. She tells America to keep their history. She tells the world that she will except those who seek better lives, and those who could not be accepted in the Old World. The statue of liberty would lift her torch beside a door to those who seek a place to stay.
