Ancient Greece and Rome: Task B.

How did the ancient Greek people make their living?
Fisherman and country folk provided food such as fish and olives. Farmers raised pigs and cows. City people sell and make goods such as leather goods, and pots.
What were the people's belief about the gods, the soul, life and death?
The ancient Greek people believed that the gods and goddesses had the power over nature and the events and the power to control the future.they believed that the gods and the goddesses lived on Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece. There were 12 main gods and goddesses. Zeus , was the king of gods and goddesses. Hera was the goddesses of marriage and childbirth. Athena was the goddesses of art, wisdom and war. Aphrodite was the goddesses of love and beauty. Hermes was the messenger of the gods and the protector of travelers. Ares, the god of war. Hestia, goddesses of hearth and family. Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquake, horses and bulls. Apollo, god of sun and music and poetry. Artemis, the goddesses of moon, hunting and protector of girls. Hephaestus, god of fire and metal work. Demeter, goddesses of crops.
What do people do to practice their religion?
Sick people made sacrifices in the temples hoping to be cured as they slept.
What do the people express their creativity?
the ancient Greek people express their creativity by making sculptures, beautiful temples and theaters. the greeks were smart people.
what sports do people do?
The Greeks did long jump, running, throwing the discus, wrestling and javelin during the Olympics. The Olympics were held in honor of Zeus.
